KowhaiKowhai Pattern

Today for the Summer Learning Journey I did a activty called KowhaiKowhai.

First I watched the video to see what to do.

Then I made a copy of the template to create my own KowhaiKowhai Pattern. Then I got my idea of what to do for the template.

I enjoyed this because we get do our own pattern of the KowhaiKowhai Pattern.

  1. Kia ora Fala,

Fiona here from the Summer Learning Journey. You have created a beautiful kowhaiwhai pattern - I really like the pink background and how you have used different sized koru. Ka pai! I'm really glad to read you enjoyed doing this activity. I really enjoyed learning about Tānerore - this activity taught me a lot!

Have you been enjoying the other summer learning activities so far?

I look forward to seeing all your future blog posts over the summer!

  3. Talofa Lava Fala,

Great to hear you're enjoying the SLJ so far. So am I! That's a good question you have asked me. One of my favourite things about kowhaiwhai patterns are that they are each very unique and tell a beautiful story. I love looking at the kowhaiwhai patterns when I am in the marae and learning the story behind them.

    Keep up the great work,
    Fiona
